An independent editorial platform dedicated to the helicopter world, Helicopassion has been documenting for more than 25 years the aircraft, missions and people who bring them to life, through a field-based approach built on reporting and imagery.
General presentation
Helicopassion is an independent editorial platform dedicated to the helicopter world. Created and run by André Bour, it has developed over time around an editorial line based on field observation, documentary photography and long-term coverage.
The website publishes photographic reports, thematic dossiers and in-depth articles covering civil, institutional and military uses of helicopters.
Editorial line
Helicopassion’s editorial approach is based on several guiding principles:
- a documentary, contextualised and non-sensationalist approach
- the highlighting of missions, expertise and operational environments
- respect for institutional frameworks, authorisations and communication constraints
- a clear commitment to editorial independence
The contents are designed to inform, document and transmit knowledge, without a promotional approach.
A field-based approach
Helicopassion gives a central place to field reporting. Topics are built from direct observation, on-site presence and exchanges with the people and organisations involved.
This approach makes it possible to produce content that is:
- rooted in real experience
- faithful to operational realities
- anchored in the context of missions and environments
Photography is used as a documentary tool in its own right, serving the understanding of the situations observed.
Fields covered
Helicopassion notably covers:
- civil and rescue operations
- military and institutional activities
- operators and helicopter-based services
- aircraft, equipment and operational environments
- emerging uses of helicopters
Topics are approached from the angle of the field, real-world use and experience.
Field reports
Helicopassion carries out field reports in connection with civil operators, institutions, armed forces, rescue services and other players in the helicopter world.
These requests are part of a clear editorial approach, aimed at producing contextualised documentary reports, not simple news coverage.
Each collaboration is prepared through prior exchanges designed to define:
- editorial angles
- shooting conditions
- the uses of the content produced
